Time is perhaps the most valuable thing that you have. If you genuinely want to be successful in life, then having good time management habits is a must.
If you are reading this, it means that you have trouble getting things done. I was just like that and didn’t care until the day I got fired from I job I loved. That was the day I realized that these habits were killing my chances of being successful. I got fired from the job because my boss noticed that I was easily stressed when pressured and I could not focus on a single task. He disliked that I got easily distracted and had a habit of jumping from one task to another.
These bad habits not only affected at work, but it was also impacting every aspect of my life. Who would hire an unorganized, lazy and insecure individual?
If you suffer from the same that I used to, please read my 3 Time management tips to be more productive.
Have daily goals
You are not alive if you don’t have goals. It is important that you establish goals, both short and long-term. For the sake of time management, we must plan our day ahead in order to make the most of it.
That’s why you should have daily goals. Having daily goals allows you to focus on what’s important to you and your vision. Make a habit of planning the following day by writing what you want and need to accomplish. It is most recommended take a few minutes before bedtime to make a written action plan for the next day. Start this habit today and you will see how productive you will become.

Sometimes having daily goals is not enough, especially if you work in a fast-paced and stressful environment. In this case, you should then consider prioritizing your goals and tasks and do so, wisely.
What most successful people do, is to start by tackling the most urgent and important tasks, even if they take the most time to resolve. After you complete your most important tasks, hop on to the important but not urgent tasks. Depending on how much time you have left, consider what can be continued the following day.
Remember that you are alive, and you should live your life, so don’t overwork yourself. If you learn how to manage your time well, then there’s no need to overwork yourself.

Learn to focus
If you are like me and you get easily distracted, then you need a lot of willpower. You also need to learn to discipline your mind to be able to focus your attention on the task at hand.
If you are struggling to complete an important task due to your restless attention span, you should try one of my tricks. When I feel that I’m unproductive, I put my headphones on and play some classical music. Strange eh? It works beautifully for me as I can concentrate on the task until completion.
Another thing that you could try is meditation. In a study conducted by Giuseppe Pagnoni who is a neuroscientist, he found that meditation changes brain patterns as well as increases mental focus and improves cognitive performance.
Besides meditation, you should try taking 15-minute breaks every 2 or 3 hours. A cup of coffee or tea could help too.
