Please keep reading for our 5 bedtime rituals for a better you.
Create a to-do list
Having a to-do list is imperative in today’s world. With all that happens in our surroundings, we are bound to get lost in insignificant things or tasks. If you already have a list, re-write it every night. Keep the list short and simple and just focus on less than 5 things that you must accomplish the next day.
This habit of reviewing a to-do list before bed has been adopted by the most successful individuals of past and present generations. Our advice for you is to clear your mind, be positive and focus on what you want to accomplish the very next day.
Take a few minutes to reflect on the good things that you experienced today. Don’t pay too much attention to the negative things that occurred, instead think of what you must do differently to avoid committing the same mistakes.
Use the reflection time to your advantage and focus your aim on becoming a better person every single day. You could also use the time to do some self-pep-talk and motivate yourself to accomplish your goals.
Another thing that you should write in your journal is the important things that you have obtained and the life goals that you have achieved. Read the list every single night and give thanks for it. Give thanks to God, Life or the Universe for being able to experience those things.
If you are reading this, it means that Life has been good to you. Be grateful for being alive, for your health, for having family or friends and for having a roof over your head. Even if you are lacking faith in what other believe (God), the practice of gratitude will shift your mood in a positive way and will mold you into a happier and better a person. It doesn’t matter if you have had a difficult journey, be thankful that you are still here.
For most people, reading is the last thing they do before going to sleep. This is even backed up by studies that say that a relaxing reading ritual can prepare your body for sleep and help your mind get rid of worries. Read materials that will inspire or relaxes you, so leave the finance or war books for your morning ritual.
Our advice is to read about 30 minutes or until you fall asleep if this is your last ritual.
What better way to relax your body and calm your mind than meditation? Meditation should be the last ritual performed before going to bed because in the end, you will feel so relaxed that you might just need to close the eyes.
If you have trouble sleeping, then you should try to meditate before bedtime and see for yourself how easy it is to achieve the relaxation necessary to have a quiet and smooth sleep. Another thing you could include in your meditation time is visualization. During the visualization, you basically must imagine yourself obtaining and savoring your life goals. This method of visualization is used by many successful people and even famous athletes.
