Second, you must be able to keep yourself motivated, because there will be times when you will get discouraged. But at the end of the day, if you take the right steps, you will be rewarded.
Keep in mind that these tips are based on my own experience. You may find other resources more suitable for your needs, but you can also combine what you read here with other resources.
Follow my advice, and not only will you lose weight, but your overall health will dramatically improve. Here we go!
Don’t eat junk food
Did you know that fast food is also called junk food? If you are serious about losing weight, then you most definitely should not eat junk food. It only takes one single Hamburger to erase a weak of work toward your goal of losing weight. And that’s is why you should not eat that kind of food. The universal advice is to avoid fast food, sugary drinks, precooked and canned meals while increasing the consumption of fruits and vegetables.
Don’t tell anyone but once you reach a healthy weight, you could eat just a little bit of junk food, once a month. I understand that junk food is too delicious to get rid of entirely. Remember this word; “Self Discipline.”
Drink green tea
Green tea is a miraculous herb; not only it provides health benefits to your body, but it also helps you get rid of fat naturally. Be advised that for best results, you should drink the tea after a meal or in-between meals. According to various sources, green tea promotes a healthy digestion system as it also helps in regulating the excess of fat that you consume.
Like I mentioned; for maximum results, you must have a cup of tea after every meal or in-between meals. Also, please be moderate with its consumption. Aim to have 3 or 4 cups, but do not exceed 5 cups a day.
Have healthy snacks
Even after a substantial breakfast, we usually get hungry about two hours later. So instead of going to a vending machine for chips, consider having healthy snacks. Eating unhealthy meals is another way of wasting a week worth of progress. Another trick that could also work for you is to snack, for example, a handful of almonds an hour before lunch or dinner, that way you will not eat as much as you do on an empty stomach. There are many other healthy options that you can find based on your taste.
In my case, I usually pack for work a cup of natural almonds, a fruit, granola bars and/or baby carrots. You can combine different kinds of snacks but don’t have too much of them. The purpose of having snacks is to control your hunger. So, don’t eat too many of them.
Drink water before every meal
In addition to snacks, drinking water before meals could help diminish your hunger; thus, you will end up eating less, as simple as that. Do not expect to see results in days, you must be patient and wait at least a month to start noticing slight changes in your body.
What I do:
I usually have a glass of water just before breakfast and lunch. Come dinner time, I drink slightly less water because I like to enjoy this much-needed meal. By the way, it is not recommended to have a heavy meal just before bedtime. Having a heavy meal just before bed is basically losing two days worth of progress. So, if you usually go to bed by 10 PM, dinner should be no later than 7 PM.
In summary, when I first started with this habits, I only wanted to lose belly fat. Two months later, I lost not only belly fat but 25 pounds. Also, just a few weeks after I started this routine, I began feeling more energized without the need for caffeine.
My advice to you is to be positive and remain consistent. One thing that I forgot to mention is that when I started this routine, I was injured, and I could not do any type of cardio exercise, but it is essential to complement a balanced diet with physical activity.
