The Internet as we know it, it’s a virtual space used mostly for communication, amusement, and leisure. What most people ignore is that the Internet is a wonderful place for business! There are many opportunities available for the common folks like us to make some extra money.
Here are a few ways in which you can make money from Blogging:
Starting a Blog
Many people get intimidated by the thought of having to create a blog themselves. They think that they need to have some computing programming experience, for that reason they either pay ridiculous sums of money so that others create their blog, or they don’t ever materialize the idea at all.
What if I told you that it’s easy to learn to create and set up your own blog. In fact, you can create a blog in a matter of minutes.
But when can you start earning money with your blog?
The first thing you should keep in mind is that it takes time, effort and dedication to get to the point where you earn money with your blog. To be a successful blogger, you need to have a long-term vision and discipline regarding your website.
Before you can even think of monetizing your blog, keep in mind that you need to put out some quality content. You need to keep your content fresh and updated. Once you have a nice blog setup (with at least 20 solid articles published), you can then run ads on your site.
Now, I will not go over the technical details on this post. But here I share a few ways on how you can monetize your blog:
Cost Per Click Advertising
The easiest and fastest way to monetize a blog is through CPC advertising. The acronym CPC means “Cost Per Click”, which means that they pay you every time a user clicks on one of your ads. There are many reliable CPC Ad networks, but without a doubt, the most popular and the ones work best for me are Google AdSense, Media.net, and Infolinks.
Registering is as simple as entering their site and filling in a small form. Don’t get desperate though, they usually take a couple of hours to a few days to approve your membership.
Remember this formula; the more visits your blog has, the more people will click on your ads and the more clicks occur, the more money you will receive.
One of the preferred ways for most people to make money online is to sell a product or service belonging to a third company. It is currently one of the most profitable options on the web. You basically earn a sales commission by promoting other people’s (or company’s) products.
To start as an affiliate, find a product that you would like to promote. Then contact the company that offers the product and request to become an affiliate partner. Once you are accepted as an affiliate, promote the product on your blog and don’t forget to include the product links that the provider gave you. If you put out some convincing content out there, you will soon start earning a portion of the profits for each sale you make.
If you are willing to make a living as an affiliate. There are dozens of platforms looking for people like you. Personally, I recommend the ClickBank and Amazon platforms, since they are well established, and they provide the best pay in the field.
Besides ClickBank and Amazon, we highly recommend companies like LinkShare, eBay, and ShareASale.
So, if you have a Website or a Blog, try your skills as an Affiliate Marketer.
Another clever way of earning money blogging is by writing for other Blogs as a Guest Author(Freelancer). There are many popular websites that are looking for collaborators with competent writing skills to write for them on a regular basis. Did I mention that Guest Blogging is also a great way of increasing the traffic on your own blog?
Do not think that this is just a part-time alternative. If you are serious about this, you can make a full-time income as a Freelance Writer. We can run some numbers, for example; you write a 1,000-word article, they pay you $30 for it and it only took you 1 hour to complete the paper. What you earn can be determined by your writing skills and by the time that you put into it.
There are many freelancing platforms where businesses and independent professionals connect and collaborate remotely. The most popular sites for freelance gigs are Elance, Freelancer, Upwork & Toptal.
So, if you are up to the task, do some freelance writing and start earning money.
Sell your own products and services
Let’s say that thanks to the effort you have put into your blog, you receive 10,000 visitors every week and of that number of visitors, 70 buy your product. For each product sold, you receive $30 in profit per unit and $2,100 in total. Let me tell you that that amount of money in a single week is excellent.
I am not going to tell you what products to sell. You must do your own research and find a product that suits your blog and your vision. What I can tell you is that the amount of revenue you get will be correlated with the quality of your site’s content and the strategy you use to capture prospective buyers.
An example of a product would be a book. If you have decent writing skills and an idea in your mind. Why not? Although I recommend you use the Amazon Kindle platform to launch your book if you are self-publishing. You can always promote your book on your own blog and post links that lead back to Amazon.com.
If you already have a product, don’t waste time and create a platform for it.
Like I mentioned before, there are many opportunities available for folks like us to make money online. The options that I shared with you are not “the way” but my preferred ways. The only thing needed to be able to thrive in this online industry is self-discipline and self-motivation.
