You don’t need to go to a beach, a mountain or hours of your time, just find yourself a couple of minutes, a quiet spot and relax. Meditation is a technique that has been practiced for thousands of years and there are many studies proving that it helps the mind and body fight stress.
Start meditating and you will find how enjoyable it can be. It might even serve you as a way to transform your life. Please scroll down to learn How to start meditating in 5 steps.
#1 – Wear comfortable clothes
Wearing comfortable clothes allows you to spend more time in one position in a relaxed state without feeling uncomfortable.
#2 – Find a peaceful place
It is important to find a place free of interruptions. It could be any place, as long as it is quiet and free of distractions.
#3 – Sit in a comfortable position
Finding a comfortable position is perhaps the most important part of the meditation routine. Once you feel you are in a comfortable position, just close your eyes and begin to breathe deep and slow. Be sure to straighten your back and relax your body. As you breathe you will fall into a relaxed state.
#4 – Relax
Concentrate on your breathing and as you breathe, think only about good things. You can either recall good memories or you can visualize yourself doing things that make you happy. This is a moment of tranquility, so be positive and block any negative thoughts that might hinder your relaxed state of mind.
#5 – Make it a daily routine
Meditation is no different than physical exercise. If you don’t make it a routine, you will not enjoy its full benefits. The best thing is that you only need 20 minutes of meditation to provide your mind the quality time it needs. If you combine meditation with physical exercise you will experience an unbelievable transformation in every aspect of you.
