Overthinking and Worrying too much
Imagine that you are quietly eating ice cream with your partner while happily contemplating the sunset. Suddenly, everything that is around you disappears, and you start thinking about an error you made at work earlier today. Then, you give yourself the task of imagining that you are arriving to work the next day and your boss receives you with a letter of dismissal.
Most of us fail in life because we let our worries run loose to the point of becoming unhappy and miserable. How can we let something weak and temporary take absolute control over our mind and body?
Almost the same as worrying too much, overthinking can also be an instant mood killer. To avoid overthinking just try to live the moment and forget the past. The past cannot be undone, you can only move forward.
Living in the future
Life as you know it can change radically in a blink of an eye. The only certain thing about life is the end of it. If it’s bad to live in the past, it’s worst to live in the future.
Why not make the best of our time on this beautiful planet? Do not wait for things to fall into place to be able to enjoy your time. That time is now. Be happy now and anything that comes your way will be easier to handle.
Why do you deprive yourself of enjoying your now?
Complaining too much
When you complain too much, you are just reaffirming your negative state of mind. Instead of criticizing and complaining, try to do something to change or remediate what is bothering you.
Have you noticed that constant complaint not only fuels unhappiness but also drives others away? Try to catch yourself just before complaining and pinch yourself.
Pessimism and Negativism
Nothing is more beneficial to your unhappiness than pessimism and negativism. These states of mind will rule your life until you act and put a stop to them. A negative person is the closest thing to a prophet because in most cases, their thoughts become reality.
This habit is extremely hard to get rid of. The best thing that you can do if to replace the bad habit for a good one.
Unfortunately, perpetual happiness is not attainable as all our emotions are temporary. Instead, we should focus on being a balanced individual. We should be able to learn to fight back and to get back to our balanced state of mind.
We should strive to be happy, yes, but we also need to have the maturity to understand that not always things will go our way.
